The hotel is old (since 1900), but very charming. Before I made the reservation, I was a little worried it might be too dated, but I was pleasantly surprised by the modern updates that made our stay very comfortable. The hotel staff were very welcoming, responsive and hospitable, and super helpful with all of our requests and questions throughout the stay. The breakfast spread was excellent with many options to choose from, and I appreciated the fresh eggs and coffee that are made to order. The rooms are furnished beautifully, with cohesive design throughout the hotel. Our room was quite spacious with extra seating area which was very helpful with our active son. My mom's room was quite a bit smaller but sufficient for one person. Though some of the upholstery showed wear and tear, the bed linens were spotless and crisp, and mattresses are very comfortable. The location is great - just a short walk from the bustling shopping area & Marienplatz. Immediately next to the hotel, you can find a Rewe grocery store as well as a DM drugstore which were very useful since we were travelling with a toddler who needed milk and fresh fruit for snacks. We ended up walking a lot, and taking Ubers a couple times, but there is also trams and subways right by the hotel. We stayed two nights here and left to explore another part of Germany, then returned to Munich several days later. We made the mistake of booking another hotel for our 2nd stay in Munich, and we sorely regretted that decision. If there's an opportunity to travel to Munich again, I would absolutely stay here again. :)

Lovely, cosy hotel, with excellent warm service. The buffet breakfast is simple but satisfying, and the staff go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. We enjoyed the option to not have our room serviced every day, and used the credits for the mini-bar, which was a nice touch. The hotel is located right by the main train station for Munich which makes it very convenient for arrival by train or onward travel by train, and it’s a short walk into the central tourist areas of Munich. It’s our second time at the hotel, this time with our children, who were both accommodated in our room. The rooms are not spacious, but they are recently refurbished and very clean and cosy.

Our experience at the hotel and in the room was lovely. Staff was WONDERFUL. So helpful and gave excellent recommendations for eating out and traveling to and fro on the trains. Daily room cleaning was great. Loved the sconces on the walls in our room. The old world sink and bathroom was such a nice change from all the modern finishes most hotels put in nowadays. It was absolutely charming! Just the right amount of furniture and also a nice desk to use during the stay. Our room also had a cozy little sofa to relax on instead of the bed only. Plenty of storage space and a bathtub. Turndown and chocolates would have been a nice touch :) Overall, we loved our time here.

location was excellent, within walking distance from the train station. The only problem is that it was very hard to find with all the constructions going on around the train station, and the hotel staff gave me very unhelpful directions by email. Needless to say how frustrated I was trying to find this hotel which is supposed to be just 5 mins by walking. I ended up walked a long route, on foot, with luggage, by following the very misleading directions given to me by the hotel. I was very upset when I got to the hotel. The rest of the stay was just excellent.

The breakfast buffet was quite excellent and we should have taken advantage of it sooner. The nearest coffee shop was about 10 minutes away otherwise. The hotel is only a few meteres from the Karlsplatz train station making travel quite convenient. The hotel interior is quite beautiful providing a spacious bedroom and bathroom. The staff were very helpful indeed and we had no trouble at all with our limited German language skills!
